Media Frenzy

In earlier days we formed our opinions based on :
What we see ourselves, what we hear from others, what we read.

In other words, information flow was slow, and we had more time to assimilate the information, and arrive at our conclusions or observations.

But, with media frenzy that has set in today, it is no longer our opinion. We have electronic media (Television) telling us what is true and what is not.

This is fine, except for the fact the electronic media is far far more powerful than any other kind before it. It does have a lot of impact.

As the spiderman says : "With great power comes great responsibility".

I see the responsibility aspect greatly lacking in media today, basically people who control or are a part of this media.

They do not hesitate to force their opinions, do not hesitate to invade peoples privacy, fail to distinguish between what is news and what is just a spicy story.

Most people are against censorship of media, but where exactly is the media headed anyway without censorship ?
