Dangerous Books

Hi. Writing a short story about magic and secret codes hidden in our everyday life (note: this long before reading The Da Vinci Code, which I found quite junk literature) I came across a passage of M. Blavatsky's "The Secret Doctrine", which stated that there were some books (such as Skinner's "The Source of Measures", Frank's Kabbalah, the Zohar, the Sepher Yetzirak, The Book of Enoch, and others, which were "dangerous books". Books whose mere reading may initiate certain processes in the subconscious (while the reader is obvlivious) which may impact in the conscious, or even in the environment of the reader. This not meaning that those books were bad, but they were not to be read lightly, or without a proper guide.

Comment on this. Do this kind of books exist? Are they really dangerous? Which books, and what about their content? How could they impact in reader's life even against his will?
