The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

Discussion: Maltesers

The other day I took 1024 Maltesers

Don't know what a Malteser is? See: http://www.funkypancake.com/blog/stuff2/DSC06134.jpg

I put 'em in a big bag and shook 'em about. I then dumped the bag on to the table and randomly divided it in two equal piles. I ate the one on the left.

The next day, I took the remaining 512 Maltesers. I put them in a box and threw the box down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs I picked up the box, opened it, and took out exactly half the maltesers. They were nice.

Later that day I felt a bit peckish, so I put the remaining 256 Maltesers in my washing machine and put it on full spin for 2 minutes (no, I didn't wash them). I took out the maltesers, put half of them away and ate the rest.

The next morning I randomly took 64 Maltesers out of the box and put the rest on my cereal. Yummy.

Later, a friend of mine visited, and I had nothing other than Maltesers. I took 32 and gave him the other 32. Turns out he doesn't like chocolate so I put the rest back into the box.

But 32 Maltesers isn't a lot, so when he left I snuck back to the box and grabbed half of the remainder. 16 yummy maltesers.

I shook the box and took out 8 more maltesers and played a bit of snooker with them on my table top. Soon I got bored with that and ate them all.

The next day I barely thought and grabbed 4 maltesers out of the box and wolfed them down. Suddenly I realised there are only four left.

I can't be flippant about these. Let's do something special. I allowed the cat to play football with them for a while. Then I took 2 and ate them. Thankfully my cat doesn't like chocolate either.

So here I am sitting staring at the last two maltesers. Decisions decisions. F* it. Eeny Meeny Miny Moe. Jiggle. Jiggle. THAT one. *crunch*

It was fun. I'm going to keep that last malteser as a reminder.
