What is the REAL reason older people persist in having control over younger people in democracies?

Example facts:

 - A law system in which people till the age of 16/18/21 have fewer rights.
 - School systems in which children/students HAVE to listen to somebody in front of class or else the will be punished, parents will be called etc..
 - Giving parents RIGHTS by LAW to make children listen to them or else the government instances will take care of these children and put them in "special schools" where the will be locked in until they listen or become 18.

What would be the REAL problem for everybody under 18 if you take away all these restrictions now written down in laws.Start Free Trial
