The day you smelled the coffee.

Now this one is for both Atheist and Religious. We all start off as children, then one day like a light bulb turns on. We realise that there is a God or there isn't a god. Well if anyone can remember that day and if they would like to share it, please tell the story of that day.
The reason I ask is I am a Christian and my mother believed in God but my father didn't, so I got both ends when I was a kid. But being a kid I took no notice of what either of them said I was agnostic you could say.
It wasn't until I was 24 years old that the light bulb went on in my life, I was religiously thick you could say. I thought evolution was true because that's the only version I ever heard but never really gave it a second thought, same with god. Then I met a person who was godly for a better word, and started to teach me about god. Well like anyone in my position I thought oh oh here we go a Bible basher, but not wanting to embarrass the person I let them rabble on.
Now thinking I new a bit about god from the days of my mother and father I tried to compete with this dude (Big mistake) he shot me down like he had an SA80. So guess what my back was up and the next day I decided the next time I come across this dude he's going to get it. So I got a hold of a Bible and started to read it, I didn't know where to start so I started from the beginning. I also asked a few people I new who were religious what they new.
Anyway I read the bible and studied and when I met this guy again he bible bashed me again, the thing is though, this time I could understand what he was saying. Needless to say I was shot all over again, but that's when the light turned on. I havent looked back since.
Now some people say in P/R that religious people are brain washed from when they are kids and that's why they are religious, not in my case. But not just religious people, Atheists must have had a light bulb go on as well. I would like to hear all stories. Points will be awarded without bias. :-)
