With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

The Feedback of the Community

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Why was Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt? et. al

Why was Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt? And other questions...

As Lot and his family leave Sodom and Gomorrah, they are instructed to not look back.
(why?)

Lot's Wife looks back (accidentally?) and is immediately turned into a pillar of salt.
(why salt?) (why a pillar?) (why not some other punishment?)

Before leaving, Lot offers his daughters to the people (presumably immoral uses) but they refuse.
(why? -- were they particularly ugly?) (Is this any way for a prophet of God to act?)

Later, the daughters get the old man drunk and use him sexually.
(reinforcement of the "ugly" theory?) (What is going on here?)

There is so much flat-out weirdness in this story that I really can't get my head wrapped around it. It really doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the biblical stories. Was it inserted into the text by a deranged fool?
