We go through many stages in our lives: baby, infant, child, adolescent, adult working, marriage, children of our own, adult not working, grandchildren, retired and ultimately death.
I only put that list so as to remind people that nothing is static in one's life. So let's in this question concentrate on the period of time as a working or not working adult. That might include marriage, children and perhaps even grandchildren. I'm particularly interested in the work/outside work balance. I do not like the term work/life balance as that implies that work is not part of life - it is - so let's get past that.
Please don't get upset with my initial paragraph as I do recognise that not everyone gets married or has children etc.
