Where and who said: Every part of the whole is a whole in itself

Asked by eghtebas in Philosophy & Religion

I am looking for the origin of the statement/phrase which resembles: "every part of the whole is a whole in itself" if any at all. The original may be a bit different than what I have here right now.

If you cannot think of the source, you may want to put your own short version together to better describe the point.

Question: What is the exact qoute and what is its origin?
