philosophy on suicide by car accident.

Someone told me their parents died when they were 7 years old. I later asked how and I was told a car wreck. Very real life and believable. Then later they said it was suicide. This became less believable.
1. I doubt the passenger could have had the intentions of dying unless it was a double suicide or some how was able to cause the accident.
2. There are more successful ways to die than car wreck because there is no guarantee of death in a car wreck, and you could involve other vehicles and innocent people.
3. If the driver was intent on killing both parties, he-she could have died and the passenger survived.
4. If the driver was intent on killing both parties he-she could have survived and lbe eft with a life of misery such as paralized from the neck down.
5. Depending on the circumstances about the only close to guaranteed success of dying in a wreck would be explosion, driving off a cliff, driving off a very high bridge, etc.

If you wanted to die, would car wreck be a good choice for you?

Am I to be skeptical of this person's explanation on how their parents died?

I do not have access to death records or death certificates.
