With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

Individuality

Science, by its very nature, strives to understand things in terms of universals. Trying to apply the concept of individual identity to an electron, for instance, would be laughable. The premise that they are all identical - capable of going through the same state transitions, etc, is so ingrained it is invisible. State and position are all that distinguishes any two electrons.

Science seems poorly equipped to accommodate the idea of individuality and doesn't appear to be headed towards it any time soon. Psychology, as an example of the best that can be done within any framework that is remotely scientific, isn't (in my opinion) a very compelling attempt. It also seeks insight 'into' the individual by tracing commonalities.

Reductionism, and perhaps all systematic analysis, it seems, requires abstraction and elimination of the individual, and yet concluding that "I" am an illusory epi-phenomenon, that individuality is a side-effect of the law of large numbers seems to overlook a phenomenon that is ubiquitous.

Religion, on the other hand, specifically (I'm generalizing here) targets the significance and connectedness of the individual per se, and God is, by my reckoning, the quintessential 'individual'.

Can a robust 'theory' of individuality be developed? What would be the characteristics of the framework that could both embrace the concept and embrace the lawful regularity that science uncovers?
