Is Obama the republicans choice?

I'm not in the US, and actually this would be unthinkable in most political parties (as long as you don't want to win). I don't get to understand this. Most polls (if not all!) show HIllary as the only one able to easily defeat McCain, they also show her able to pick votes from many moderate republicans and almost all of the votes of the Obama supporters would be willing to vote for her if she's the nominee.

And now the Obama's side, he isn't even able to pick the votes of hillary supporters, many polls show that up to 50% of them would be willing to vote for McCain if she's not the nominee. So it's crystal clear that he simply won't unify the party in Denver. Buts this is not all, most of the polls show him performing way worse than HIllary against McCain, and losing in swing states and the general election. Keeping in mind that he has not experience at all, and with a rising life expentancy we can consider him TOO young to be a president, nowadays he's not yet in a "presidentiable" age, although he would be a good VP, and get experience to be the nominee in 2016 or 2020 when he would be 60.

We already know, that, unless a sudden unexpected turnover in the nomination race, Obama will be the nominee. Whats the point with it? Do the democrats really prefer Obama as candidate, losing the election rather than Hillary in the white house?? Is their hate for a woman bigger than their desire to win the election? This makes me wonder if Obama is being supported by the republicans and their mass media in an attempt to wipe Hillary off the contest being aware that Obama is no rival for McCain.

This is insane!! And I'm not american, i'm just seeing it from outside. What do you think?
