My company is thinking about opening up a branch office in China, and they have told me to research the potential speedbumps that we might run into. I know that the Chinese government censors the internet, but I am assuming that we can simply set up a site to site VPN so that all of the data flowing across their ISP is encrypted and unviewable.
Does anybody know how much control the government has over private business internet connections? We would not be transferring any information regarding banned Chinese topics, but I do not want to be faced with the situation of our network link being blocked one day and I don't know why.
Has anybody here set up a branch office in China, and if so, what pitfalls did you incur?
