12 ballz (very difficult)

There are 12 balls, all same look/feel/size/color whatever..

You have a scale you can ONLY USE IT 3 Times

One of the 12 balls is of different weight.. YOU DON'T KNOW IF ITS LIGHTER OR HEAVIER!!!

How do you find the ball that is of different weight then others?

P.S. this doesn't have to be a ball, it can be Coins for all i care, .. idea is that you have 12 objects, they all look/feel the same, one of the objects is of different weight (u don't know if its lighter or heavier) and u have a scale that you can ONLY USE 3 TIMES!!
