The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

Id, ID’s Alter Ego

A large number of ships raced on a hot summer day.  The crews of fifteen of the ships formed what they called the Furniture Club.  

None of the fifteen ships won, but one placed.  The next best showing came in fourth.  One was delayed by stopping at the Conchi to drop off some letters.  One had the largest crew of any ship in the race.  The fourth-largest ship of all competing was among the fifteen.  One crew managed to finish even after dropping its luck charm (a yellow hammer) into the water.  One of the female crew members sustained an eye injury, but her ship still finished barely ahead of another club boat, with both in the top ten.  Her cousin on another club ship was noted for her two-toned footwear.  It did not help one of the ships to have the skipper’s large automobile on board.  One ship, like a half-dozen others in the race, had a clergy member among its crew.  The slowest ship of the fifteen came in 39th place, just behind another club boat.  One of the club’s ships was of a peculiar design with compartments differing from all the other ships.  

Which club ship is unlike the other fourteen?  
Which two also belong to another club based on their social standing?  
Bonus:  One of the fifteen ships is not mentioned, but can you pick it out anyway?
