Funny speech topic?

Hey guys,

I have to write a commemorative speech for speech class. This could be really boring, and there's got to be someone I could pick to commemorate that I can incorporate some humor into the speech with. I'd like to be able to make it just a little bit interesting. Dunno like actors or someone - anyone. Just help - any random suggestions will get points.

You can go with sports, I've heard speeches given with a punch line or accent of Harry Caray (Cubs Win!) and Dick Vitale that are funny.

If you're looking to score extra credit with creativity and originality, here are a few outside the box ideas you might want to consider:

a) Commemorate yourself. It could be a tongue-in-cheek presentation at first, but then pull back and conlude with more serious musings on life and leaving a legacy, the act of commemoration, remembering the past, repeating the mistakes of history, etc...

b) Don't mention who, just mention what that person did. Then, get people to guess

c) Commemorate the unkonwn soldier. The unknown scientist. The unknown father. The unknown...

d) Commemorate a fictional character inside the same universe as that character exists (e.g. commemorate Spock, as if you yourself were part of the Star Trek universe).

e) Make a sketch of various famous people and commemorate someone who has a mixture of certain personality traits (the wit of Oscar Wilde, the insight of Einstein, the beauty of Marilyn Monroe, etc...)

f) Commemorate the fact that people don't commemorate stuff as much as they used to, back in more commemoratin' days.
