The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Possible Fraud - Can someone verify?

Hi all,

I saw a piano for sale at a very popular website, and am interested in purchasing it.

The seller asked me to pay $5000 to a security escrow service, and they will get paid AFTER I inspect and approve the merchandise.  Although it is a sweet deal, something didn't seem so right to me...  How could I trust this 3rd party escrow service?  So I started to dig a little bit more...  Here are some interesting things I've found out about the site ( http://www.sellbuysecure.com ):

1.  There isn't a very professional look about it.  This doesn't look like a site whose primary target is e-business.

2.  When you go to the "Register Form", it isn't on HTTPS.  Although it may later on direct me to a https site, I don't want to take the chance of proceeding further with the deal until I am comfortable with who I am dealing with.

3.  The seller had some broken English when replied to my inquiry about the merchandise.

4.  When I look at the www.sellbuysecure.com 's "Company Info", as per the website, it states that it was started on 2001.  However, when I go to NetworkSolution's ( http://www.netsol.com ) website, and did a "whois" on http://www.sellbuysecure.com , the record was created on july, 2004!!

5.  I did a google search and it came up with nothing... kind of suspecious for a company of this nature to return nothing on a google search.

So... The question is:

1.  Do you guys think this is a fraud?
2.  If this is a fraud, how can I report it?  I've gone through a few sites, but apparently you have to be frauded before you report it (by that time, they probably already scammed enough people and took off)!!!
