Hello - In the past few weeks I've been having a problem with Hotmail where it will lock up IE. The problem happens under these conditions:
1) After I reboot my PC.
2) When I open a new IE broswer.
3) I log into Hotmail and click on the "Mail" tab for the first time. Other tabs seem to work ok.
4) IE freezes for about 10 minutes. The only way to kill it is through Task Manager.
I have been able to attribute this to having MSN IM 7.0 or higher installed. If I remove MSN IM, then I am able to access hotmail without any problems. However, I need to have MSN IM installed. Here's what I've done to try and fix the problem:
1) Deleted all cookies, Temp. Internet files, and history files.
2) Installed the latest updates from Windows Update.
I have a Toshiba Satellite with a Pentium 4 3.2 HT 512MB and DSL connection. XP Home.
MSN support has been totally worthless. Help if you can. Thanks!
