How to make a SEO Friendly url using htaccess

Hello,

I just want to know how to make a friendly urls from .htaccess

My website URLs are like this:

1. http://website.com/index.php?category=ambalaje
2. http://website.com/index.php?category=ambalaje&city=craiova


So i want it to be composed like this
1. http://website.com/ambalaje
2. http://website.com/ambalaje/craiova
