worked but not looking for 3rd party solution
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have the exact same need as the original thread. I would like to have a user connect via Windows VPN and have a file automatically copied to that user upon connection.
I cannot find anything about running a program upon connection, so I figured having another process create the connection and then go retrieve the update file is the best method.
I have the name matching the VPN connection perfectly and it doesn't give me the error about not finding the phone book entry nor does it give any other errors. The CLI simply.... returns
rasdial "Home network" user password
no errors, just no connection either.
I should add that this works perfectly on Windows XP but not in Vista and I cant find anything. Any help / ideas would be appreciated but I dont think anyone should spend too much time on this....I can find several threads with no solutions but I still want to ask. Thanks!

Using Autoitscript, you may be able to come up with a solution. I assume the VPN has a gui to connect. Does the vpn program have command line options?
