How do I automate the login and checking of my website?

Asked by simonprr in Automation, Web Hosting

Hi,

I have a purely internal website thats been developed for me, but I need to capture certain information from it. The trouble is that it has to be logged into, using a login/password form embedded in the website and some of the data I need to collect is on different pages. I need a way to automate this, ideally with a free/open source app. I've tried using the command line util wget.exe in a batch file, but it just can't do what I need it to. I need it to go to certain pages, click certain buttons etc. Not very easy I know and I don't know any programming languages apart from scripting in batch files.

Any ideas?

Thanks
