Windows Forms vs. Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)

Hello all,

I'm currently used to developing in Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 in C# and the occasional (unfortunate) VB.  I'm used to Windows Forms, and naturally I'm a bit thrown back by WPF.  Most of the applications I write are business applications where Windows Forms is plenty graphical enough.

I've read that Windows Forms isn't going away any time soon, so there's no guilt in continuing down the Windows Forms path.  For anyone who's used WPF before, what advantages/disadvantages have you found?  Do you see it dying out or eventually becoming the standard?  Is it worthy of my time to learn how it works?

I'm also interested in how easily and well it deploys to Vista and (ports back) to XP.

Thanks,
