Error installing Visual Studio 6.0 on Windows XP

See Attached error message.  Its a clean machine.  Latest XP patches.  I got this error message very far along in the installation process.  I selected V C++ only. ( that's the only thing i'm trying to install )

Then I tried it on my main development XP machine, but it hung right away during "setup is searching installed components".  This machine contains both VS 2005 and VS 2003.  

Isn't VS 6.0 supposed to run on XP?  Its an MSDN version.
