Issues upgrading from Visual Studio 2005 Professional to Visual Studio 2008 Professional

Asked by megnin in Visual Studio, .NET Framework 3.x versions

Tags: , , , ,

I'm currently using Visual Studio Professional 2005 on Windows XP SP2.
We've ordered and received Visual Studio 2008 Professional and I'm eager to upgrade but haven't been able to find anything on the internet concerning upgrading from VS2005 to VS2008.

I have not installed any beta or pre-release version of VS2008 and none of the Express Editions.

Do I need to uninstall VS2005 prior to installing VS2008?

Are there any issues to watch out for or anything I need to do before installing VS2008?

I also want to install the .NET Framework 3.5 on our web server.  Are there any issues I need to watch for or anything I need to do first?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks1
