tab delimited text file to sql 2005 database

What is the best way to import a tab delimited text file into a sql 2005 database using vb.net / visual basic.  I am just starting to explore vb in visual studio 2008 having come from a long access vba background.  I wish it was as simple as docmd.transfertext  Please provide an example if available.
