If you want to search if the process is running by ExeName, try this function:

uses TlHelp32;

function ProcessIsRunning(const ExeFileName: string): boolean;
var
  ProcessSnapshotHandle: THandle;
  ProcessEntry32: TProcessEntry32;
begin
  Result := False;

  ProcessSnapshotHandle := CreateToolHelp32SnapShot(TH32CS_SNAPPROCESS, 0);
  ProcessEntry32.dwSize := SizeOf(TProcessEntry32);

  if Process32First(ProcessSnapshotHandle, ProcessEntry32) then
  begin
    Result := ProcessEntry32.szExeFile = ExeFileName;

    if not Result then
      while Process32Next(ProcessSnapshotHandle, ProcessEntry32) do
      begin
        Result := ProcessEntry32.szExeFile = ExeFileName;

        if Result then
          Break;
      end;
  end;
end;

HWND hHandle = FindWindow (NULL,Untitled - Notepad);
if(hHandle)
{
 //Notepad is running.
}

For finding Notepad.
Change the name with the applications caption and you are done.

do you want to know if the process is running from within the borland c builder ide ?

this is for Delphi, probably works for C builder too ...
check if there is a global debughook variable

if debughook <> 0 then
  showmessage('running from within the IDE');

If I'm not mistaken BCC55 is the free version of C++ Builder compiler - linker...
So I'm attaching the code of procView and hope that it will help you...
