I am able to register a Dll programmatically. What I would like to now is check (programmatically) if the Dll was registered before I attempt to register the Dll.
I basically know what the Dll name is, do I need other information to do such a check?

I think that it would be AnOCX.ABCD where ABCD is the COM Object class name within the DLL. Under this Key, you would find an entry of CLSID which is the CLSID for the COM Object. (And would be used when you create an instance of it). Use Regedit to have a look before and after registering your DLL to confirm this.
You would use the TRegistry class and FindKey to do the searching.
Thank you for your prompt assistance. The latter option is not possible for me as the OCX does not allow for dynamically creating the object and therefore not allowing to instantiate it. (it is a bug in the control on Borland, it has to be dropped onto a form else it will not work, unless you have an idea but I have tried different ways)
I think the best option is a search in the registry allthough if you want a different way (less code) in Borland C++ you can call ProgIDToClassID("Control.C

Are you meaning registering a DLL that has COM objects in it? If so, you would need the ClassNames as well as the DLL names, and check in the registry for an entry in HK_CLASSES_ROOT.
