How to user an extended class in place of the class it extended

I have a class called County and extended it as follows:

public class CountyEntity: County
{
}

I have a function called GetCounty that returns a county object as follows:

County county=GetCounty();

Is there a way I can do to return a CountyEntity object instead of a county object since the countyentity object has a base class type which is the same as county?

I tried the following, but it doesn't work

CountyEntity countyEntity = (CountyEntity)GetCounty();

I'm looking for a way to do this without having to manually set all of the properties one by one.
