Hi,

// Declare variable for active sheet

// There is an active sheet, so close it
     Close (lw_Sheet)

Hi gagendar99

I have not narrated my problem clearly. I want to close window not sheet.

If in a command button I write this

if isvalid(w_v_cont_panel) then
      close(w_v_cont_panel)
end if

The above code works.

How to find the window name [w_v_cont_panel] dynamically.

by: MateenPosted on 2006-09-23 at 04:24:36ID: 17583320

Untill I know the dynamic method, I am doing this way.

if isvalid(w_chart_of_acc)             or &
      isvalid(w_setup_entry_base)       or &
      isvalid(w_v_cont_panel)       or &
      isvalid(w_notes_master_tabpage) or &
      isvalid(w_os_shmaconsole_reporting)      then
messagebox('','You cannot change company when another window is open')
      return
else
      open (w_select_year)
end if

// Declare variable for active sheet
window lw_Sheet     //Here is my change

lw_Sheet = w_frame.GetActiveSheet ()   //w_frame is my mdi frame name... u change it to ur mdi frame name...

do while IsValid (lw_Sheet)
// There is an active sheet, so close it
     Close (lw_Sheet)
     lw_Sheet = w_frame.GetActiveSheet ()  //put ur mdi frame name here instead of w_frame
loop

Now open ur desired window...

Cheers,
Rosh

Did you open your windows inside an MDI?

by: MateenPosted on 2006-09-27 at 20:04:14ID: 17616042

Hi lordain

<<Did you open your windows inside an MDI?>>

The menu is associated in a MDI. from there I am using OPENWITHPARM

by: LordainPosted on 2006-10-02 at 12:33:12ID: 17646120

If using MDI then use OpenSheetWithParm instead of OpenWIthParm.  I believe this will allow the above mentioned solutions to work.
