Some applications constructs query like (say MS access/Oracle)
SELECT "C1","C2" FROM "T1"
And same application generates query without double quotes for different ODBC driver(say Mysql)
SELECT C1,C2 FROM T1
Suppose if we write an sample ODBC application in QT as below
QSqlTableModel *model = new QSqlTableModel(table, db);
model->setEditStrategy(QSq
model->setTable("myt");
model->select();
If the above piece of code is made to run for a database in mysql driver the driver trace file shows a query constructed like "SELECT c1, image FROM myt" in SQLExecDirect API.
But the same code run for a database in Microsoft access shows a query of the form "SELECT "c1", "image" FROM "myt" " .
Can anyone please tell how Qt decides the construction of queries with double quotes or without double quotes?

the quotes are ONLY needed when handling special characters in the column or table names, like spaces for example, or reserved keywords as column/table names.
so, unless you need the quotes, don't use them.
FYI:
* mysql uses `table name`
* access and ms sql server use [table name]
* oracle uses "table name"
* ms sql server can use "table name" with QUOTED_IDENTIFER set to ON
