I am working with eclipse 3.1 . when ever i tried to open the eclipse i am getting the "Out of memory exception" showing the "use -Xmx256m" to increase the heap memory?
I tried with that -Xmx256m but it's not working.
How can i increase the virtual memory for eclipse?
what is the syntax of the command to use for this?
Can any body help me in the issue ?

Be aware - I've had situations where I have to set the heap size very large, between 1 GB and 1.5 GB, so you may need a larger number than in this tip.
