Text editors, feature I'm looking for

I haven't the faintest idea what this type of editing is called but I use to use Multi-Edit and the software had a unique feature I can't find in free editors.

I'll describe it, when you go from line of code either down or up using the up or down arrow keys, the cursor goes exactly up or down.

It does NOT go to the end of the line on the next line.

It maintains vertical position.

Anyone know of a FREE text editor that has this feature?
