DHTML Editor in VB6 not allowing controls to be placed in IDE

I'm trying to add a control to the page in the DHTML editor (first time use the DHTML editor) it but it does not get placed, just the outline and then and when the mous key is released, it just disapears. see the two images which may help to explain it better.

First is selecting the control and placing it onto the page
the second it imidiatly on release of the mouse

any ideas?
