Modeler, to the best of my knowledge, can not export to flash nor any other 2d files (well, maybe with some 3rd party plugins). You can try to export it to 3d max and than use Vecta3d or Illustrate! plugins render it to flash. Another option is to use Rhiho3D which can "save" 3d files to .AI which could be imported into flash. Best solution to do it through 3d max.

Lightwave 5.6 supports export to 3D studio, DXF and alias wavefront via the lightwave Translator 3D options plugin. This is a modeler plugin and works for the objects.

You could also use layout to save the scene as a wavefront scene or a VRML scene if 3D Studio or Flash support importing those formats.

You didn't state what version you are using...

There are some good 3rd party programs such as already has been listed but one I have used from time to time is 3DWin

http://www.stmuc.com/thbaier

it supports a HUGE range of formats including liwghtwave scene and object and 3DS so it might be worth a look

You can use the program called Vecta 3D. It is available for 3DS MAX as a plugin, and it is also available as a standalone program. It renders 3DS MAX scenes as swf anims. The standalone version has got a shader feature which the plugin version don't, can render perfect light effects...

It's worth mentioning to anyone reading this thread at this point in time that there is another program made by 'Electric Rain' called Swift3D MAX, which is a plugin for 3DS MAX.

To my knowledge it is considered to be a better product than Vecta 3D.

Hope this helps someone!
