Question

Importing .obj with attached .mtl file into lightwave.

  HI, I need to import a Wavefont's OBJ file into lightwave. The mash imports just fine but the material setup (the .mtl file) is just ignored.
   I'm using DAZ|Studio and it just exports .obj + .mtl  format.

   The key is, it has to be a FREE solution... I mean If I need to buy a $200 plugin it won't make much sense.

  Okino is great.. i know.. all the other converters don't work.. I've tried them all, belive me. But Okino is very expensive... DAZ|studio is free and i've bought my original copy of lightwave for $300 when Newtek had a sale. So it makes no sence to buy Okino's polytrans for $400!

                 PolyTrans for Windows XP/2003/2000/NT/98      $395


http://www.greenbriarstudio.com/3D/  Is only $125 ... but I'm not looking for a full featured software...I just want to be able to import the OBJ with the MTL textures assigned correctly. So I can render the Poser characters within my Lightwave scene without haveing to re apply all the sufaces.

anyway it is still an open question...
