3D Studio Max Tutorial Files
My husband has downloaded the 3D Studio Max trial. He wants to work through the tutorials but the associated files didn't seem to come with the trial download.
I'm trying to find someplace to download the files so he can work through the tutorials.
I think I found some on torrent sites, but of the ones I tried, I have to pay for the download. (I've never really used torrents before)
Specifically, he's running the tutorials via the Help menu. The Tutorial says the files should have been installed into his My Documents folder. They're not there and I've searched his entire hard drive and haven't found them.
Is there anyplace I can find these safely and for free?

I'm not sure if the tutorials ship with the free version. Try looking in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010\Tutorials. However, I believe that there are many better tutorials online. Here are a few places to start:
1. Lynda.com - (many free max tutorials - or you can subscribe) - http://www.lynda.com/home/
2. The Area - Created by Autodesk (& free) - http://area.autodesk.com/t
3. The123D.com - (free) - http://www.the123d.com/tut
4. 3D Total - (free) - http://www.3dtotal.com (click on the free stuff link, then tutorials)
5. CG Arena - (free) - http://www.cgarena.com/fre
6. YouTube - many great video tutorials (search for 3DS Max Tutorial)
The tutorials that ship with 3DS Max are VERY outdated. I think you'll be much better off using tutorials on the web. Also, I'd stay away from torrents - lot's of nasty viruses and malware if you're not careful.
