Why does XBox 360 Live interfer with our wireless router?

About 3 weeks ago, our XBox 360 Live (which is hard wired to our wireless router) is preventing one of our laptops from getting an IP address.  None of the hardware is new.  Everything has been running well for about 2 years - up until 3 weeks ago, anyway.
