I create a couple database programs in VC++. They use Access mdb file. To save data into database I use SetData() then I closed and reopen database. Everything works perfect. But recently I found (in MSDN) that I need to use Update() after SetData().
The question is why do I need to use Update() if works fine without it?

If you close the database it will do an automatic update call to validate all data before it closes the database.
You should use update instead. There is normally no need for you to close and open the database. You are only waisting time doing this. The other reason is that if you (theoretically) have another user connected at the same time to the database it's really not a good idea to close the database for him when he is trying to access it.
