Hope this helps. If you don't find the descriptions useful, I am sure some simple formula are easy to work out (so long as all items have unit sized footprints; note that one fix would be to work up your multi-tile sized objects as a collection of single tile "parts" ... not sure how good the idea is but it just occurred to me).
