Problem with Blackberry Email Reconciliation

I'm running a Blackberry 7250 off of Exchange Server\Outlook and Email Reconciliation is not working.  As a troubleshooting step, I went into the Desktop Manager, Backup and restore, Advanced and cleared folder, folder id, messages and purged messages.  This deleted all emails from the inbox as expected.  Afterwards, I went to Intellisynch and Sychronize Now but no emails are brought over from the Exchange inbox into Outlook.  I do have the "Reconcile Email" checkbox selected.  If I go into "View Log" I don't see any log entries about synchronizing emails. I'm not sure if that is normal or not.  

Here are additional steps I've performed:

On the blackberry under messaging options, I have Desktop as the Message Services, Delete On set to Mailbox and Handheld, Wireless Reconcile set to on and on conflicts, mailbox wins.

I've tried both a soft and hard reset

This sort of problem is often caused by a corrupted MAPI profile.  Delete the user profile, restart, and then recreate the outlook profile.  That should take care of it.

I tried deleting the profile, and that didn't help.  I've since cleaned up emails in both the Blackberry and Outlook and seem to be back in synch.  I'm wondering if there is a way to reset your Blackberry so that it is starting from scratch as if you are setting it up for the first time.  I thought deleting the mail database would do that but it didn't.

You can delete all the databases in "Backup & Restore", then download the latest OS for the handheld from your provider's website and run the OS install.  That will give you a completely clean handheld.

Looks like that is the only way to do it, but it seems there would be a better way to do a clean synch.  Thanks for your help, I'll assign the points to you.

The way to clean a blackberry handset is dependent on the version of the software you're running on the handset.

If it's a Version 4.0 handset, do 'Options (the spanner)' and Security. Click again anywhere when you're in security and the menu will have an option 'Wipe Handheld'. Enter the word 'Blackberry' when prompted and it will wipe it back to factory.

HOWEVER. If you have used a restrictive IT policy on the device (such as no phone etc..) that won't be removed. You have to join it to a mailbox which has got full access to wipe that off.

If it's older than Version 4.0 then you can do the following;

Go into security and enter a password. Exit out of the handheld and turn it off. Turn it back on, and enter the password incorrectly 10 times. Every so often it will prompt you to enter the word 'Blackberry' just to confirm. On the 10th incorrect entry the handset will wipe the same as above.
