Hi,

You need to install the BlackBerry desktop manager software that should have come with your device.  If you don't have the software you can download it from the blackberry website.

1. Install BlackBerry Deskktop Manager
2. Connect device (The first time it will install the drivers)
3. Open Desktop Manager
4. Open IntelliSync within Desktop Manager
5. Slect "Configure PIM"
6. Go through the options such as Calendar, contacts etc and slect them to sync with Outlook
7. Once completed slect Sync and it will start transfering your data.

I have synced it a while ago. WHat will happen to the current data residing on my blackberry?

by: garycutriPosted on 2006-08-08 at 16:24:04ID: 17275541

The data will be synchronized with your desktop.  If you are concerned about losing data the desktop manager has a backup feature so can backup before you do a sync.

Is the Blacberry Handheld SOftware v2.7a for my 7520 Nextel?

On your device you can go to the "Options" menu and select "About" and on the third line it will tell you your software version number.  Also go onto the Nextel website and see what the latest version for your device is, you can then install it onto your device via Apllication Loader in Desktop manager.  Make sure you have the Backup device checkbox ticked during the upgrade process.

RIght but will the version I mention work on my model?
The sight really doesnt say.

Also, I lost the stock NOL web access. How do I get that back?

by: garycutriPosted on 2006-08-11 at 00:25:13ID: 17294253

As long as you go to the Nextel website and find the 7520 update software from that site it will be fine.  Most blackberry firmware is provider dependant so you can download any 7250 firmware and expect it to work.

Also the web access login has a "Forgot Username" or Forgot Password" option so you can retrieve you logon details.

Hello -
The site you need to go to to get Nextel Blackberry software is: http://www.nextel.com/en/solutions/blackberry/index.shtml?id8=blackberry or you can type www.nextel.com/blackberry in the address bar.
The link is on the right hand side about half way down the page under Software & Upgrades.  Click on the Software updates for Blackberry 7520 and 7100i and a new Blackberry link will open.  From here you can get the latest handheld and desktop software.  Pick the Blackberry 7520 in the dropdown box and it will give you the latest software (4.1) as well as other choices.  I'd get the newest.
If you are worried about the data that is currently on the device then you can either do a synch or a backup before installing the new software.  Either way the data will be saved and you can do with it what you will.  I suggest the synch because then you don't have to worry about going back and merging the data from the backup and what ever you have in Outlook.
There is no way to get the NOL icon back.  A couple months ago Blackberry consolidated the web browser icons and now they are all under the Internet Browser icon.  If you click there, there will be a link to the Nextel Online homepage.
Hope this helps –
WellRed

P.S. BES stands for Blackberry Enterprise Server.  It a hardware and software solution that companies with many Blackberry users get to manage the services.
