Thanks for the information. I had to disable the wireless sync feature for the address book inside BES for each user first.

Browse All TopicsI have a 5 user BES with Exchange. I am trying to synchronize the "Contacts" folder that we created in Public Folders to each users Blackberry. I have gone into the desktop manager to add the public folder called "Contacts" to the PIM. When I try to save this setting I get an error that says I can't because of wireless sync is enabled. Is there a way to wirelessly sync a public folder?

Overview BES 5 - Public Contacts Sharing Wireless Syncing Public folder synchronization can be enabled in the BlackBerry Administration Service using the following steps: 1. In the BlackBerry Administration Service, on the Servers and components menu, expand BlackBerry solution topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component view > Email. 2. Click Edit Component. 3. In the Published public contact folders section, select the public contact folders that you want to permit the BlackBerry smartphone user to synchronize to the BlackBerry smartphone. 4. Click Save All.
Now go to manager users, click on a user. Under the Messaging Configuration area I see one "Default Configuration". I click on that. Then the "Email" tab on the right. Then under the "Published public contact folders" Put a check box in the Public Contact box that your user requires

Public Calendar Example
* It is assumed you already have a Calendar in a public folder. You need to have BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed on your desktop.
1. Ensure your shared calendar has permissions to allow BlackBerry users to access
2. Open Desktop Manager
3. Select "Intellisync" and then "configure pim"
4. Select "Calendar" and click "choose"
5. click "Browse" (at the bottom) and then choose the calendar in your public folder
Public Contacts Example
* It is assumed you already have a contacts list in a public folder.
1. Open desktop manager
2. Select "IntelliSync" and then "configure pim"
3. Select address book and click choose.
4. click "Browse" (at the bottom) and "add", then choose contacts in your public folder
Public Notes Example
* It is assumed you already have a Notes Folder in a public folder.
1. Ensure your shared notes has permissions to allow BlackBerry users to access
2. Open Desktop Manager
3. Select "Intellisync" and then "configure pim"
4. Select "MemoPad" and click "choose"
5. click "Browse" (at the bottom) and then choose the notes item in your public folder
