blackberry email not showing in sent items in outlook

Hello,
I have a blackberry and I am using the latest copy of the desktop manager. I currently check my exchange based email account via pop/smtp thru my blackberry. When I send a message from the blackberry I would like to see the message in the sent items in Outlook on my exchange server.

I have read that on the next sync this message should appear in the sent items but I do not see that happening. I haven't changed anything from the defaults so what would I need to check to see this occur?

What version of BES server, and client are you using ?

Did you Set pop3 to erase messages once read ?

Please check your configuration and POP settings again.

It sounds like you are using the BlackBerry Internet Service and not a Blackberry Enterprise Server.  The device can't sync your sent items via the BIS service; you can set the web client to automatically BCC every email you sent to another email address.

Can you confirm if you have a BES server? Also if you haven't it would be worth considering as you can get the software for free with a 1 user license.  This BES Express software can be found on the BlackBerry website.

hello,
I am not using a BES server. I am using the internet service where it just does a pop3 download of the messages from the exchange server to the blackberry. What is weird is that in addition to having my exchange account on the blackberry I also check my ameritech.net or yahoo account and sent items do appear in that account. To the best of my knowledge they are configured the same. That is what is confusing me.

Yes, you can configue the internet service to do bcc's. so you need to check it's configued the same way on both accounts. Are you perhaps using the desktop redirector to get your Exchange mail - are you sure you're getting it the same way as the ameritech account?

Hello,
I want to refrain from doing the bcc...
It is configured the same way... On the tmobile website where I set up the accounts that I want to recieve mail for I see no differences in the setup between the account that is for my work vs. the ameritech/yahoo account.

BCC is the only way I think when you're using the internet service. And you'll need to create a rule so the mail you BCC back to yourself doesn't re-appear on the Blackberry (unless you want it to). The same test (i.e mail "from" you arriving in your Exchange Inbox) should be moved from your Exchange Inbox to your sent items, and probably marked as read too...

... maybe the BBC's ARE being sent and Exchange is dropping the BCC'd mails because it's seeing them apparently sent from your Exchange email address but from a different domain (RIM's SMTP server) - and thinks their spam??

yeah, i don't want to do the bcc and i am fustrated as it's working with my ameritech.net email account and not the exchange server. I am going to call tmobile and ask their tech support.

I never got an answer on this question. It appears that it can be done on Yahoo but not on Exchange without the blackberry email server.
