The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Lotus Notes Address Book conversion to Microsoft Outlook

Asked by WBARRON in Blackberry Programming, Lotus Notes, Outlook Groupware Software

Tags: notes, lotus, address, book, outlook

My fromer employer used Lotus Notes (version 6.5.1) in conjunction with a Blackberry 8300-- Prior to leaving I saved the address book as a Names.NSF file on a memory stick. I now have a new Blackberry Curve and attempting to import my old address book into it.

The Blackberry Desktop Utility Manager that controls the sync is installed on a Windows XP machine. I do not have Lotus Notes software and only have installed Microsoft Outlook 2000. When I load the desktop utility for the Blackberry, it apparently (specualtion by Blackberry support) sees the Outlook and does not allow me to sync with the Notes NSF files. Their suggestion was to buy a Notes Client and then attempt to reinstall the Blackberry Desktop Manager after removing Outlook from my PC.

I will eventually need to get this same address book imported to Outlook as this will be the software used by my new employer so I hate to remove Outlook, plus I hate to buy Notes Client just to unpack the address book.

I read through all of the archived solutions and noted that most were dated in 2003 and 2004---I am hoping that there may have been some software updates in Outlook that would allow direct import or some other utility that does not require that I have Notes.
