Get phone call logs off blackberry, save on local computer(somehow)

I would like to know how to go about getting the phone call logs both incoming and outgoing logs off a blackberry and have a file local on a computer via email,or usb link will be fine. email pref so it can be done remotely.
i have the blackberry jdk from blackberry.com and i have the java jre installed too. but i do not know where to go form there. is this possible to do and if so how please

id really like to code this for a sprint pcs blackberry curve 8330.

im fairly new to java, i know php and vb.net some .net c and some perl too, along with random javascript things. so please be forgiving in your reply

Hi Pern - I've never tried to do this but here is what I would do/suggest:

Do an advanced backup selecting only call logs from desktop manager, save to .ipd. You should be able to open this up with notepad etc (I would suggest notepad++) and the raw data should be in there though I don't know about formatting. There is also a program I've used in the past called ABC Blackberry Converter (http://www.processtext.com/abcblackberry.html) that can open those .ipd backup files and can export to other formats - I've had do do w/ SIM and PIN messages and can't imagine call logs would be much different.

i was looking for a code solution from the blackberry. (monorail1's solution  may work out too as a last resort)

i did find a program like i wanted to do, but it does not have the things totaly i wanted to put into it.. i was looking for a way to do this

(this does solve my problem but i really wanted the code)
so i can add some of the other things i want too. i just needed a base on how to start to do this project, maybe a way to read the logs inside a java program, the code to do that weould be great. then i can expand and do what im looking for. all i really need is how to capture the phone logs.

Sorry if I misinterpreted, are you looking for some sort of automated way to do this? I've heard of Log2File but never used it so I sadly cannot offer any insight into that. If this is a one time thing, once the data is saved to an ipd you should be fine given the method I mentioned above. If you're looking for a solution to regularly copy/transfer call logs I don't know if a viable solution. Let me know if I can help further, you've sparked my interest but I don't know any java (yet).

im basicaly looking for how Log2File does it, in code format, if i can read the phone log files i can make the program, i have never programed in java nor blackberrys jdk before.. after xmass im going to dive into this. and i guess learn java. i was hoping someone could help with code or point me to code that was all ready figured out. so i had a starting block.

i shall keep you posted here, and if someone else jumps in maybe the code will be given *smile*
