Thank you. I tried restarting the BES Services and got the same end result.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsOur company uses a BES to pass along enterprise e-mail to our users. I recently deleted and recreated a user (my boss) on our exchange 2003 server. Subsequently, I removed his account from the BES. Now when I try to re-add him as a user in blackberry manager I get an error "Failed to add user <username> to the Blackberry Server. Unable to open mailbox for user. The user's mailbox may have been deleted." I tried moving the profile to a different location and tweaking the user and blackberry account permissions in exchange to no avail. I searched around EE and the web and found a solution that uses DBCLEAN.EXE to wipe user data, but either it was ineffective or I am not using it properly as I still have the issue. I am at my wits end on this one any help would be deeply appreciated. I am adding a screenshot of the error message just in case it would be helpful.

under c:\program files\research in motion\blackberry enterprise server\utilities (might be called tools) look for handheldcleanup.exe run this with the -u switch on the blackberry enterprise server and use the BES MAPI profile. It should scan the list of users and clean up all the info stored in the hidden folders within their mailbox.
