I was told to go to BPS, when I downloaded and tryed to install the latest BPS which 4.1.4, I get the error message you can't update to an older version. What's the next step from here? You can also upgrade straight to BES 5.0, which should support your SBES cals as well as new enterprise CALs. Currently it's available as a free trial, which you install/upgrade straight over the top of your SBES (make sure you take backups of the database first though). Just use your current SPRID and CALs and not the trial ones that come with BES 5.0.
Yes that's correct.
If you're going to do an in-place upgrade (i.e. upgrade your existing server) just be sure you read the BES 5.0 install documentation thoroughly as you need to ensure LDAP permissions are set. I would then back up the BESMgmt database and store it in a safe place.
Be sure to set a BAS admin password, rather than use AD authentication as it's buggy at the moment.
If you're looking to set up a separate server you can use the Enterprise transporter tool that comes bundled with BES 5.0. Make sure you choose bulk/offline mode for it, as you only have one SRPID.
Actually, you could probably install the trial srpID and CALs and run both at the same time. Enterprise transporter will allow you to move your users from one BES to the other. Once everyone has been moved you can then decommission the old BES, take its SRPID and CALs and put them into your new BES 5.0.

you just need to get a full BES unlock code from your carrier/dealer, thats what i did when moving from SBE to full version.
Enter the license code and it unlocks the server, allowing unlimited handsets, as long as you have the CALs to support them, i now have nearly 40 running now, and recently upgraded to BES 5.0
