If you don't want to wipe the handheld, connect it via usb to desktop manager.
On your device, go to calendar and set all calendar's wireless sync to "no".
On your device, go to contacts and set all contacts wireless sync to "no".
In desktop manager, under backup/restore, choose advanced. In the right-hand window you'll see the databases stored on your device.
Select "calendar - all" and choose "clear" from the middle pane. Do the same for contacts.
On your device, go back to calendar and contacts and change wireless sync to "yes". Leave it for a while and the BES will send back down all your contacts and calendars.

Hi,
Was there a special reason to sync the contacts and calendar before you activated the phone? the easiest thing to do is to wipe the handheld and reactivate it on the bes server. It will basically erase the data on the handheld and reset it to the factory settings.
best regards
