The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Tried to Change BlackBerry Admin, Receiving MAPI error

Tags: BlackBerry, BlackBerry Enterprise Server, 4.1.3.18
BlackBerry Enterprise Server had been set up using an user's administrator account. I was attempting to change it to the suggested BESadmin. However, when I choose Edit MAPI Profile from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server menu, the Microsoft Exchange server entry is grayed out and blank. The Mailbox is set to the domain admin account.

BES and Exchange 2003 are both running on a SBS 2003 /w SP2 server.

Also, when I go to BlackBerry Server Configuration, I am directed to a screen for setting up the server. I accept the defaults and click Next until I reach the screen where I input my SRP Identifier and Authentication Key. Both are correct, I click next and get the following error:

"The MAPI subsystem cannot be correctly initialized and used. Please make sure MAPI is installed and configured properly."

I tried the steps located here: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04110&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=131020981&stateId=1%200%20131028535

Resolution 1: I do have Microsoft Exchange System Manager Installed
Resolution 2: Reinstalled MESM, issue persists.
Resolution 3: Imported the Registry, issue persists.
Resolution 4: Outlook is not installed. MAPI32.dll versions are the same.
Workaround: There is no option to "repair."

I still have the same errors. Please help me out of this mess.
