Does the blackberry desktop redirector work with exchange when BB enterprise software is not installed?

I want to know if I can use the blackberry desktop redirector to send emails to one blackberry in our org.  We are planning on using exchange shortly, and I want to know if I can do this or do I need to purchase the enterprise server solution.  I've read conflicting things about this on the internet, and really am looking for a definite yes or no from someone who has done it.

Wadski:
You will not need an Enterprise server if it's just one person.  BDR works fine with an Exchange based email account.

You can even set a forwarder within Exchange so you don't need to use the BDR.
