HTC DROID Incredible Active Sync Failing

I have the New HTC droid incredible and when trying to use activesync to connect to my exchange server i get the following error "Failed to create account please try again later".  I have added the user to the exceptions list in System Manager - still nothing.  I ran a test from testexchangeconnectivity.com and received an error on my cert.  This was because it is self signed.  Can you not use self signed certs on the DROID?  Not sure why its failing and this point.

Firstly, which version of Exchange are you using to sync with?
Secondly, you should be able to use a self-signed certificate, but you may have to install it on the Droid to get it to work.  3rd Party SSL certificate make life easier and if you have Exchange 2003, then the small cost for a cert is well worth the outlay, compared to the hassle if you have lots of users.
